How It Began 50 years old service to The Kingdom.
At 3 years old, Kevin saw his first angel. His siblings confirmed that he played his first musical songs on the piano at the age of 3 years old. At the age of 5 years old, the Spirit of the Lord spoke to Kevin’s heart and told Kevin that he would do something great in this world. When Kevin was 9 years old, he went to live with his dad. Kevin’s stepmother recognized that he had a gift of playing the piano and at 10 years old, he began playing piano for the children’s choir. Kevin continued to serve in that capacity until the age of 18 years old. On July 7, 1974, at the of 19, Kevin married Cynthia. In 1976, at the age of 22, he returned to the church with his wife; they both received salvation and were filled with the Holy Spirit. In 1980, Kevin accepted his call to ministry and in1983, he was ordained to the ministry.
Kevin’s first ministry calling was to the streets of the Los Angeles Skid Row district, ministering to the lost and homeless of the streets in Los Angeles, California. There, he hosted and conducted services at Church on Wheels every Monday evening for two and a half years, ministering in song; once the building had filled up with the homeless, Kevin would minister the Word of God, offer salvation, lay hands on and pray for the sick.
From there, Kevin served as music director for the Ablaze Ministries; this ministry focused totally on the prophetic move of God, demonstrating miracles, signs and wonders. In 1989, Kevin received an ordination and license to ministry through Ablaze Ministries (Pastor and founder Joe and Dr. Jean Perez.) Kevin served there in training for two and half years and was awarded “The Encouragement Award” for services.
During this time, Kevin was a member of Crenshaw Christian Center, Apostle Frederick K.C. Price. In the early 1990’s, Kevin began serving as one of the worship leaders on Sunday mornings and for Tuesday night bible studies. In 1991, he was asked to travel with the Ever Increasing Faith Crusade Team, which traveled nationwide, hosting crusades in venues such as New Jersey Meadowlands and New York’s Madison Square Garden.
In January 1992, Kevin was given the green light to produce the first ever concert at Crenshaw Christian Center, “Live At The Faith Dome, The Night Of Jubilee.” 9,600 people were in attendance, $43k was raised for the Frederick K.C.Price III School and people received salvation.
Kevin coordinated and produced concerts for the Helpers For The Homeless and Hungry Thanksgiving event from1986-1995; these outreach events were held in a public park, serving food, distributing clothing and ministering live music along with inspirational words of faith and salvation to all who attended the events. The concerts featured local artists ministering in song and rap as HHH served the people of the community.
